What is soft washing?

It’s a low-pressure application of a chemical mixture mostly involving, sodium hypochlorite, water and bleach stable surfactants (soaps). Dilution ratios of these three components are very job specific. Sodium hypochlorite is a disinfectant, which is why it is so effective in removing organic stains, such as, green algae and or black mildew, etc. It will actually kill the stain and prevent it from growing back quickly. Soft washing is not strictly limited to a bleach-based cleaning solution. Hydrogen Peroxide based cleaners have proven to be effective in removing organic stains as well. These solutions will not harm landscaping but they are priced at a premium and often times take long dwell times to be effective in removing stains. We incorporate an industry specific solution, special gutter applicator pads and brushes to softly scrub your gutters exterior surface. Often times we can remove “tiger stripes” which are the dark vertical lines that form on your gutters surface. 
• Wood Restoration; Soft washing is a common way to clean wood. High pressure cleaning will damage wood. There are many different chemicals made specifically for cleaning wood. Keeping up with cleaning and sealing your wooden surfaces on a regular basis will increase the life of the wood exponentially. The more you can protect it from the elements, the better. Much like paver sealing, there are many variables and every job is different when it comes to wood restoration.
